Our MIssion
called to rebuild the ancient ruins…
About this ministry
In 2000, in Wray, Colorado, at a "Children and the Holy Spirit" Conference, newly saved and newly married, Paul and Elizabeth Paige Chavoustie received a very powerful and anointed call into ministry, when a stranger who had been praying and fasting for three days came up behind them, wrapped them in a prayer shawl and began to read this scripture to them in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. They fell under the power of God and were pricked to the heart with these words to guide the course of the rest of their lives:
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. Strangers will shepherd your flocks; foreigners will work your fields and vineyards. And you will be called priests of the Lord, you will be named ministers of our God." (Isaiah 61:1-6)
Of course, this is a prophecy of the Messiah, Jesus, and through Him, a pronouncement of what we are all called to do. This is the call to Christian ministry for us all, but for Paul and Elizabeth Paige, this was a moment hand-picked by God and the birth of a life beyond ordinary Christendom to live completely sold-out for Jesus with extreme faith, passionate obedience, and ministry in it's many, varied, mostly unseen and desperately challenging forms--all designed to train us all to trust Him more.
The real full-time ministry began in 2001 when they adopted their first of two adopted children from Russia (ages 8 and 11 at the time--27 and 30 now). This is real ministry--not titles, or fancy services, or weekly gatherings in fine buildings--this is the real deal, and this is what we are all called to--binding up the broken-hearted, releasing the oppressed from their spiritual chains, giving hope where there is no hope, teaching love by loving, teaching faith by believing, teaching long-suffering by, yes, you guessed it---suffering long.
And through that kind of ministry, we do rebuild the ancient ruins of people's lives and restore their generations. This is the only type of ministry that counts, and no one can give you a degree or a course to prepare you for that. And the only honor that comes with it is the silent pleasure of your Father in heaven, as you become more and more like His Beloved Son.
In 2003, Paul and Elizabeth Paige legally formed their ministry, In His Hands International Ministries, as a Colorado non-profit. At that time, the primary ministry functions were: Bible teaching/ ministry training, intercessory prayer, Christian counseling, international adoption counseling, abortion ministry, evangelism, and encouraging the down-trodden.
Since that time, Paul and Elizabeth Paige have been blessed with many opportunities to serve God, including: traveling on evangelism crusades with Rick and Mick Vignuelle and Cassie Bernall's grandparents; Paul and Elizabeth both sharing their testimonies on The 700 Club, planting and pastoring a Spanish-speaking church for 8 years, speaking at and hosting Christian conferences, co-founding Hope's House Kenya orphanage and Hope and Light Academy in Kitale, Kenya; and writing and publishing books to inspire and encourage; and now, to train up believers locally and around the world through In His Hands International Bible College and through further books and video teachings.
Paul also was elected Mayor of Granby, Colorado, and followed God’s plan for the town, truly “rebuilding the ancient ruins” in ways that will bless the residents there for generations.
In 2021, Paul and Elizabeth moved their family and ministry headquarters to Florida and also founded World Bible Radio, to reach the masses with God’s Word.
The heart behind all of what we do is to love and serve God and people with passion, to help stir up the gift that God put inside of you, and to encourage you to live a life fully surrendered to Him, walking in extreme love and passionate obedience, as a willing vessel to bring His love to the lost and hurting in this world. If we will each rise up and be the kings and priests He has called us to be, we truly will see His Kingdom on earth, as it is in Heaven.
